Sean Sullivan: Personal Info

Hello ... after graduating from Amherst College in May 1997, I moved to Boston and am now living in the Cleveland Circle district.  I have started a contracting business, Tayjeta Analysis & Design, and am working on a variety of projects that involve algorithm design and coding.  The topics include such diverse fields as ion beam control and embedded code for consumer electronics.  I am also working on several writing projects that are unrelated to the computer industry.

My life is, of course, complicated as always.  I am keeping myself actively involved in astronomy, observing artificial satellites, probing the nature of ethical theory, pondering metaphysics and threading through the logic of causality and quantum mechanics, fending off two cats that really, really want to eat my dinner, taking meandering walks around town, and continuing to expand my ever-growing collection of shiny pebbles.  Bellatrix, the younger cat, has trained me to play fetch with the little rings from the top of Star Market orange juice containers.  And as someone said to me in September 1998, "you're just trying to find the answers to everything, aren't you?"  Well ... okay, yes.

Here is a list of the Classes that I took at Amherst College. If you're a student or prospective student, and want to ask questions about courses, departments, what it's like to write a thesis, etc, feel free to ask -- four years there builds up a lot of Amherst-specific knowledge and it's a shame to let it go to waste :-)
